Medina County Fair

One of our favorite family traditions in the summer is to venture out to our county fair. Our girls love the rides, games, and looking at all the animals. Jake and I both enjoy looking at the exhibits and entries for “best,” “biggest,” “tallest,” tastiest”, (you get the idea) for plants, produce, and cottage foods submitted from around the county.

This summer Jake decided to take part in some friendly competition by submitting some of his homemade wine, mead, and beer into the Medina County Fair agricultural contests. We also submitted homemade applesauce and the tallest sunflower from our family garden. Unfortunately that sunflower was not the tallest in the county, but Jake did take home First Place for his homemade beer entry (pictured above)!

He’s already planning on some new submissions next year and hopefully we can encourage our oldest daughter to try her own 4-H project as well!
